What was Dieter‘s path to create HPLC?
JOURNEY OF GROWTH
My high school journey was shortened as I decided as a 17 year old kid to hitchhike through Europe for 4 months. This journey taught me so much about people in other countries, other cultures and other languages. It gave me the opportunity to spend time with very rich and privileged people and with the poorest people living in the streets. That was the best and most memorable lesson in my life.
DEFYING FATE
When I was 21, I had a medical condition and was told that I only had 7 more years to live if I was very lucky. I had just lost my father after his battle for 7 years with the same illness. Even though I have lived much longer than 7 years, for the next 30 years I never did anything longer than 7 years. And now the longest adventure I have had is with my son for the last 16 years.
INDEPENDENCE
My best decision in my life was when I realized that I never wanted to work for anyone else. This made the difference between helping someone else to become wealthy and taking care of my own financial independence. I never regretted it.
EMPATHY AND GUIDANCE
I feel very compassionate towards people which led to countless conversations about personal issues, challenges and endless questions about their desires, goals, dreams and hopes, and the ways to get there. There is always a way!
